Modoc District Fair - August 22-25, 2024
In 2015, the Modoc District Fair Board approved a transition plan to stabilize the Modoc District Fairgrounds due to the financial crisis which threatened the potential loss of the fairgrounds in the Modoc community.
A non-profit organization was formed by the community and the Modoc District Fair Board entrusted the annual Modoc District Fair to the Modoc Heritage Foundation to continue the annual tradition while the Modoc District Fair Board focused on stabilizing and improving the financial position of the 34th District Agricultural Association.
The agreement was through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by both entities and is available below for the public to review.

The MOU established how the entities were to work together to create an innovative way of retaining the Modoc District Fair for future generations to come. The term of the MOU is from January 1, 2017, through December 31, 2021.

The Modoc District Fair Board has supported the Modoc Heritage Foundation with the annual event each year in many ways. Some examples are as follows: Fair Board member organizing Ranchers Day, Fair Board Member organizing the Modoc District Fair Parade, office support throughout the annual event, a dedicated fair board member to attend the Modoc Heritage Foundation meetings, and much more.
